Ensure a Bright Future for Israel’s Children

Join Israel’s largest educational nonprofit supporting over 12,000 at-risk children.

Our Vision

No child should be lost in oster care or left to navigate life alone.

At Migdal Ohr, our vision is rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to flourish in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Our vision is not just about healing past wounds; it’s about creating a future where every child—no matter where they come from—has the chance to grow into a dignified, capable adult who can contribute meaningfully to society. We believe that by working together, we can build a more inclusive, compassionate, and unified Israel, where every child’s potential is recognized and nurtured. At Migdal Ohr, we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, neglect, and hopelessness, and to cultivating a brighter, more promising future for generations to come.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to ensuring that orphaned, neglected, and underserved children in Israel not only find safety and care but are also empowered to reach their full potential. Our mission goes beyond immediate relief; we are fostering long-term, systemic change by transforming lives through holistic care, education, emotional support, and community involvement.

By addressing both the academic and personal development needs of each child, Migdal Ohr is raising a generation of leaders who are overcoming adversity, shattering the limitations often imposed by their backgrounds, and emerging as empowered individuals. These young men and women are equipped with the skills, confidence, and moral foundation needed to excel in life, and in turn, they become contributing members of society, driving progress and positive change in Israel and beyond.

Our Story

Migdal Ohr “Tower of Light” was established in 1972 by Israel Prize Winner and Presidential Medal of Distinction recipient Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman. Driven by a deep-rooted love for Israel and the Jewish people, he has devoted his life’s work to social issues and to educating children-at-risk.

Migdal Ohr is Israel’s largest welfare non-profit educational network that provides an enlightening framework of critical services and life-changing essential programmes to nearly 12,000 deprived, orphaned and at-risk Jewish children across Israel. Its facilities include dozens of day-care centres, preschools, primary and secondary schools, vocational schools and academic institutions, boarding schools, foster homes and after-school clubs. The children enrolled in these programmes come from both religious and secular backgrounds, some are native Israelis while others made Aliyah, and they represent every ethnicity and diaspora community.

Some are residents of Migdal ha’Emek, while others come from every part of Israel. Migdal Ohr provides a warm, supportive and loving home in every way possible, from accommodation, meals, clothing and health services to vocational and academic training, educational opportunities and cultural activities as well as the instilling of Jewish and Zionist values. Join us and help continue our mission to provide a warm and accepting home to thousands of children.
