During a heartfelt and inspiring visit to Israel, Amit Fraser, CEO of Migdal Ohr Europe, was joined by Laurie Beziz, Chair of the Migdal Ohr France Committee, as they toured several key facilities supported by Migdal Ohr. This visit marked a significant step in strengthening the connection between European supporters and the children and young people whose lives are being transformed daily through these vital programmes.
The tour offered Amit and Laurie a powerful, up-close look at the impact of ongoing support and the profound care embedded in every aspect of Migdal Ohr’s work.
Their journey began at the Afikei Ohr Youth Village, where they were warmly welcomed by staff and students. There, they saw firsthand how this nurturing environment empowers at-risk youth – providing them with stability, education, and a deep sense of belonging.
At the Machshava School, they witnessed an inspiring blend of innovative education and emotional support. Amit and Laurie were especially moved by how the school reignites a love for learning in students who had once lost hope in their educational journey.
The visit continued to the “Cooking Up the Future” programme – Migdal Ohr’s professional culinary school – where young people gain practical skills and a clear path toward a dignified livelihood. In the bustling kitchen, Amit and Laurie connected with students who proudly shared their culinary creations and dreams for the future.
The final stop was the bridal salon, a unique initiative where young women are trained in cosmetology and event preparation. Beyond vocational training, the programme nurtures pride, creativity, and purpose in each participant.
